More than 100 years ago, Rudolf Steiner spoke of potential spiritual harms from vaccines, and predicted that they would be mandated. Steiner also criticized the fanaticism of physicians in his own movement who categorically opposed all vaccines.

In this presentation, Walter outlines the polarities of the vaccine debate, and shows how the oft-portrayed war between “vaxxers and anti-vaxxers” is a distraction from doubts about the scientifically unsupportable one-size-fits-all vaccine policy, being forced on virtually everyone. The talk is based on Walter’s recent article that examines key vaccine safety questions and raises doubts about the “herd immunity” argument, being wielded as a club to beat down opposing voices. More nuanced approaches favored by, among others, anthroposophically trained physicians, will be discussed, as well as the role of childhood fevers in immune system development.
