Robert McKay: The Meditative Path
from Rudolf Steiner’s Knowledge of the Higher Worlds
March 15, 2023
As human beings we are thrown into and live through many different developmental processes. Rudolf Steiner described human life as a path designed toward achieving enlightenment. It is the slow and gentle-as-it-can-be path of karma and reincarnation.
Anthroposophical meditation is a path that takes everyday experience as a starting point. Through it we can accelerate this natural developmental process. Rudolf Steiner identifies those aspects of everyday consciousness “hidden” in plain sight that have developmental potential when activated.
Accelerating a developmental process brings challenges into the life of the meditant, and this path of knowledge must be undertaken thoughtfully and skillfully. It calls on the individual traveling it to understand the transformation process ever more clearly. Robert McKay will introduce us to key elements of this process described by Rudolf Steiner.
Robert McKay, a longtime student of Rudolf Steiner’s work, met anthroposophy at the age of 17. He is a member of Anthroposophy in Toronto, and lives in Toronto. Robert is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Rudolf Steiner College Canada. Also, he provides lectures and workshops on anthroposophical meditation and other topics. He is a member of the School of Spiritual Science Section for the Literary Arts and Humanities. Robert works in healthcare management.
