Making America Whole Again

With Rev. Gisela Wielki, Friday December 6, 7pm EST

Presented by Anthroposophy NYC (138 W15th St, New York, NY

May our feeling penetrate

To the centerpoint of our hearts,

And seek in love to unite itself

With human beings of like goals…

So begins the “American Verse” gifted by Rudolf Steiner to New Yorker Ralph Courtney in 1923. We can ask, as we enter the second century of our possession of this verse, what is the role of the heart in making America not great, but rather whole? And whole not just for ourselves but for the sake of the world and our mission as a particular nation–great among nations in terms of its influence and therefore, its responsibility.

As servants of Michael, can we become bridge builders in our present world of stark polarities? What ideals and paths will we represent? The evil that resides in a fallen intelligence and unchecked instinctive emotions? Or the urgent need to sow seeds of courage and vision for our undying American dream?

Gisela Wielki will offer some thoughts and images for these demanding themes, followed by conversation. Rev. Wielki is a retired Christian Community priest who remains connected to the congregation in New York City. Gisela was ordained in 1970, and served in NYC, in Chicago, and as Director of the North American Priest Seminary.
