Following the application of Goethe’s theory of color and Steiner’s approach to color in art, these workshops are open to all who have an interest in creating a new relationship to color. We will meet two Saturday mornings per month to discuss and test the theories.

Using the color exercises outlined by Hilde Boss-Hamburger, we will paint with the wet-on-wet watercolor technique in order to come to a fuller understanding of the moral effect of color experience in the soul. Open to painters of all levels.

Artists are asked to bring their own brushes. 1” and 1/2” flat watercolor brushes are recommended. Brushes will be available in the bookstore for purchase.

Reproduced copies of The Creative Power of Color by Hilde Boss-Hamburger (out of print) will be available for $35 from the bookstore. Goethe’s Theory of Color ($35) and Rudolf Steiner’s Color Lectures ($24) are also available in our Rudolf Steiner Bookstore.

Kelly Beekman, an artist and an elementary school teacher, has stopped teaching to pursue her art on a full-time basis. Recently, she has focused her expressive energy on embroidery, striving to capture the forms and figures from her meditative life. Kelly also enjoys painting, collage, and drawing with colored pencils and pastels. Always finding ways to make her work satisfying for hungry and seeking hearts and eyes, she strives to create surfaces that are rich in color and texture. Kelly has a BA in Fine Art from Bowdoin College and an MEd in Waldorf Education from Antioch University New England. kellybeekman.com
